Toni Shiloh: Write the Story In Your Heart

Author Toni Shiloh is guest blogging here at Inspirationals this week this lovely interview!  Toni speaks from the heart and shares about her faith, inspires us about writing, and shares about her newest novel with us.  Thank you so much for being here on my blog Toni.  Your new book cover is simply beautiful!  I really love that your characters discover and explore their faith in your books.  That's the way to write books! - Lisa

How do you share your Christian faith in your writing?

My faith is such an integral part of me that it naturally flows out. I love talking to God throughout the day, so many of my characters do the same. I love when they discover something new about Him. Often times, I’m discovering the same things or it reinforces that knowledge. I love exploring the many avenues of faith through my characters.

Tell us about some of the characters in your newest book?

I had a fun time writing about Carly James and Damien Nichols. Carly is an art teacher who goes with the flow, but it’s a cover up for her insecurities. Being around Damien brings those old doubts to the forefront. And Damien, well he carries his hurts on his business suit sleeves. Monetary security is very important to him. It’s so important that he’s left no room for anything but working. I enjoyed throwing them together and taking them on a road trip.

What would you tell other aspiring writers to encourage them?

If you have a story in your heart, write it. Don’t worry about the rules, or whether someone else has written it. The most important step is to write it. Everything else, can be looked at in subsequent drafts. You’ll never know what you can accomplish until you do so.

“A Proxy Wedding” releasing in A Spring of Weddings Collection May 3rd!

Blurb: Carly James values loyalty and friendship above all. So when her best friend calls asking her to be a proxy bride, she says, ‘yes.’ How hard can it be to say ‘I do’ so that her best friend can be with the one she loves? Only, Carly never counted on the feelings that began to swirl around with the proxy groom.

Damien Nichols likes life lined up from A to Z, but when his best friend calls in a favor, disorder begins to reign. Instead of taking a quick flight to the proxy wedding, he has to take a road trip with the proxy bride. Carly’s free-spirit attitude bumps heads with his meticulous approach to life. As Damien discovers the woman underneath the carefree façade, his emotions become involved.

Will love become real at A Proxy Wedding?
